I offer a variety of workshops throughout the year on topics such as Tree Spirit Medicine, Plant Spirit Medicine, herbal medicine, plant identification, dream journeying, and more.

Dream Journeying to the Plant People (September 28, 2024)
Awaken your natural capacity to speak with the spirits of plants!
Plants are fully aware beings that have intelligence and spirit as well as a great deal of wisdom that they are willing to share with us – we need only learn how to hear them.
In this workshop, you will learn how to speak with the spirit of plants through an easy and effective process called ‘dream journeying.’ Dream Journeying involves getting to know the nature of a plant and then dreaming in an intentional way while still awake to meet and commune with its spirit.
We all have the innate ability to speak with the plant spirits. This way of dream learning from them is available to everybody and doesn’t require years of specialized training to awaken this gift.
During the workshop, you will meet and dream with a plant that calls to you that will serve as your guide and teacher. By dream journeying to the plant people, you will develop an intimate, two-way relationship with plants and learn directly from them of their wisdom, blessings, messages, and medicines.

Format: You can attend this workshop either in person at Living Earth School of Herbalism in Maple, Ontario, or through Zoom.
Fee: $100. You will receive extensive handouts detailing the process of dream journeying and how to interpret your experiences.

Traditional Weather Work Harvest Festival Ceremony (October 6, 2024)
Hosted by Monika Ghent & Michael Vertolli – initiated Weather Workers (Graniceros) in the Nahua tradition of Mexico
I will be leading a Traditional Weather Work Harvest Festival Sunday, October 6th, in Maple, Ontario. This is an opportunity to gather in joy and ceremony in honour of the Weather Forces for their precious, life-giving rains that bring abundance and bounty to our lands. It is also a time of thanksgiving and gratitude to the plants, animals and other beings that give of themselves to sustain our lives.
We honour and celebrate this season of harvest and abundance through offerings of flowers, fruit, and bread. Together we’ll create an altar of abundance and gratitude as a feast for the Weather Beings. While the Weather Beings enjoy our offerings, we’ll celebrate with a potluck meal around the fire. We’ll end the ceremony with a closing prayer around 3pm.
Afterwards, people are welcome to stay for questions around the fire about our Weather Work tradition. Michael will also be giving a short introduction to our weather ceremony at a sacred site in Northern Ontario.
The ceremony will be held rain or shine!
Please RSVP to info@monikaghent.ca if you would like to attend. Attendees will need to bring fruit, bread (sweet and non-sweet), and flowers as offerings as well as a dish for the potluck. Once we receive your RSVP, we’ll send you further information of the day’s events.
