I offer a variety of workshops throughout the year on topics such as Tree Spirit Medicine, Plant Spirit Medicine, herbal medicine, medicine making, dream journeying, and more.

March 28th: Birch Tree Spirit Medicine – “Empowered Presence“
The Tree Spirit Medicine of Birch is “Empowered Presence.”
Birch helps us to shed what is not needed so that we can enter into a place of Empowered Presence. This presence brings us to that liminal space, that threshold, between what has been and the Great Mystery where something incredible is waiting to be known.
Liminal space is the transitional space and the place of great potential. It is an invitation to pass through a sacred doorway into the beautiful mystery where all possibilities and creativity await. The power and the gift of the liminal space is that it draws us out of what we have known that no longer works for us so that something new can be created; something more in alignment with our heart’s calling. The medicine of Yellow Birch brings us to that liminal space with Empowered Presence, free from the burden of doubt and resistance, so that we may pass through that beautiful doorway into what awaits us.
In this workshop participants will directly receive Birch’s gifts of healing, wisdom and guidance by transmission through Monika. Experiences will be shared and interpreted so that we may all learn from each other the depth and breadth of Birch’s tree spirit medicine. It will be with you always whenever you need it.
Location: In person at Living Earth School in Maple, Ontario or via Zoom.

April 26th: Medicinal Cream Making
The focus of this workshop is on making topical creams for therapeutic use using herbs and other natural substances.
The workshop will include both lecture and demonstration of how to prepare medicinal creams and extensive notes and recipes. It will cover all aspects of the process of making medicinal creams using only natural ingredients, including:
- Different methods for preparing creams.
- Understanding emulsification.
- Herbs used in medicinal creams.
- Using infused oils, teas, and tinctures.
- Adding Bach flowers, homeopathics, essential oils, and other natural remedies to creams.
- The healing properties of different base oils.
- Comparison with other types of topical preparations.
- Jars and equipment.
- Storage and preservation of creams.
Date: Sunday, April 26, 10 am to 5 pm.
Location: You can attend this workshop either in person at Living Earth School of Herbalism in Maple, Ontario, or through Zoom. There is a $20 material fee for those attending in person.
Cost: $80 by Zoom; $100 in-person. Those attending in person will receive samples of all the products we make during class and a booklet of the handouts.

May 24th: Making Natural Suncare Products
In this fun and informative workshop you will learn the art of making your own effective, natural sunblocks, SPF lip balms and after-sun care products with no toxic compromises using only 100% natural and organic ingredients.
What you will learn in this workshop:
- What is SPF.
- Natural products that have SPF such as carrier oils, butters, essential oils, herbal infusions, etc.
- How to make light sunblocks for everyday use and stronger sunblocks for intense sun exposure, including waterproof for the beach.
- How to make SPF lip balms.
- After sun care: how to heal your skin when you’ve gotten too much sun.
- Repair serums: natural substances that reverse sun damage.
- Equipment, storage, and preservation.

June 20th: Dream Journeying to the Plant People
Awaken your natural capacity to speak with the spirits of plants and trees.
Dream journeying is a simple and effective shamanic technique through which one can communicate directly with the spirit of plants and trees to learn directly from them their wisdom, blessings, messages, and medicines. We are all born with this capacity.
Dream journeying to the Plant People is not new. It is ancient and timeless. Traditional peoples from all over the world have always known that plants are fully aware, intelligent beings that possess spirit, profound wisdom, and healing that they are willing to share with us. They also know that plants are speaking to us all the time – we need only learn how to listen.
Tapping into the spiritual wisdom of plants and developing intimate communion with them through dream journeying is a rich and transformative experience. What you receive in your journeys with the Plant People will give you monumental support (physically, emotionally, spiritually) on your life’s journey. It will also awaken in you the remembering of your sacred relationship to the Earth and the unity of all of life.
