I offer a variety of workshops throughout the year on topics such as Tree Spirit Medicine, Plant Spirit Medicine, herbal medicine, medicine making, dream journeying, and more.

Workshop Registration

Registration for most of my workshops is through Living Earth School of Herbalism. When you click this link, you will be taken to the Living Earth School Online website. July 11th: Dream Journeying to the Plant People

Awaken your natural capacity to speak with the spirits of plants and trees.

Dream journeying is a simple and effective shamanic technique through which one can communicate with the spirit of plants and trees to learn directly from them their wisdom, blessings, messages, and medicines.

We are all born with this capacity.

Dream journeying to the Plant People is not new. It is ancient and timeless. Traditional peoples from all over the world have always known that plants are fully aware, intelligent beings that possess spirit, profound wisdom, and healing that they are willing to share with us. They also know that plants are speaking to us all the time – we need only learn how to listen. 

Tapping into the spiritual wisdom of plants and developing intimate communion with them through dream journeying is a rich and transformative experience. What you receive in your journeys with the Plant People will give you monumental support (physically, emotionally, spiritually) on your life’s journey. It will also awaken in you the remembering of your sacred relationship to the Earth and the unity of all of life.

August 14 – 26: The Plant People Gathering at Hawthorn Herbals

Celebrating Our Relationship with the Land & the Gifts of the Plants.

I am presenting again at The Plant People Gathering at Hawthorn Herbals near Picton, Ontario. The theme this year is “Holism. Our dynamic connection with the micro and macro.” My presentation this year is:

The Holism of Herbs

Holism is the principle that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts and a part cannot be understood independently of the whole. In the practice of holistic healing, illnesses are seen as the manifestation of imbalance or disease within the whole being and healing must be multi-layered to be truly effective. Herbs are holistic. They support and catalyze physical, mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual healing (and much more!). In this workshop, participants will experience the holism of herbs directly through the process of “herb testing.” They will be given a mystery herb to take as a tea or tincture and notice the herb’s effects within them and how to interpret what they are experiencing. Afterwards, participants will receive the same herb’s plant spirit medicine and any wisdom, blessings, messages, and medicines they wish to share with them.

The Plant People Gathering is now in its 2nd year, and brought to you by herbalists, this gathering is intended to focus on, celebrate and help to deepen our reciprocal relationship with the plant world.  Plants nourish us, help us to heal, inspire us with beauty and help to cleanse the land, air and water that surround us.  As herbalists, we study the healing properties of plants in relation to the human body, mind & spirit.  As plant people, we care for the land and all the plants that dwell here with reverence, curiosity and gratitude. Offerings include herbal medicine workshops, plant and tree identification, herbal craft and creative projects, wild food tasting, good connections with other plant people, and more.

Location: New Moon Farm, just north of Picton in Prince Edward County ON (address provided upon sign up).

Date: August 14, 5:00 pm to August 16, 5:00 pm.

Cost: Early Bird until June 15th: $350 no camping OR $390 with camping & breakfast. Regular price: $390 no camping OR $440 with camping & breakfast. All meals & snacks are included with your ticket to the Plant People Gathering. They are vegetarian, and they’ll feature our abundance of local summer produce with lots of gluten free & vegan options. All meals will be prepared by the plant-loving Chef Chris Byrne.

September 19th: Ash Tree Spirit Medicine – The Sacred Pause

The Tree Spirit Medicine of Ash is the Sacred Pause.

The sacred pause is a temporary cessation of inner or outer movement towards any goal or outcome. It provides the necessary respite after periods of expanded growth and learning for reflection and integration, when the path ahead is unclear, or when we feel overwhelmed and confused about what to do or how to be. The sacred pause creates a space of inner quietude and expanded awareness in which to rest until we are ready and able to move forward once more. Within the sacred pause is the potential for something new to emerge, to be known, felt, sensed, opened to, and created, as well as the release from entrenched patterns of reaction, resistance, and response. Through the Tree Spirit Medicine of Ash, the sacred pause can be accessed whenever needed so that inspiration, inner-knowing, and right-action arise naturally in their own perfect timing.

In this workshop participants will directly receive Ash’s gifts of healing, wisdom and guidance by transmission through Monika. Experiences will be shared and interpreted so that we may all learn from each other the depth and breadth of Ash’s tree spirit medicine. It will be with you always whenever you need it.

The Tree Spirit Medicine of Cedar is Spiritual Protection, Safety, Purification.

Cedar medicine protects us from unwanted or negative influences and energy and purifies our spirit and emotions. This protective and cleansing influence of Cedar stills our mind and opens our hearts so that we may connect to the deeper mysteries of life in safety, openness, trust, presence and wonder.

In this workshop participants will directly receive Cedar’s gifts of healing, wisdom and guidance by transmission through Monika.
