October 26: Traditional Weather Work Harvest Festival Ceremony

Hosted by Monika Ghent & Michael Vertolli – initiated Graniceros (Weather Workers) in the Nahua tradition of Mexico
I will be leading a Traditional Weather Work Harvest Festival at our home at 10971 Jane Street in Maple, Ontario. This ceremony is an opportunity to gather in joy and ceremony in honour of the weather forces for their precious, life-giving rains that bring abundance and bounty to our lands. It is also a time of thanksgiving and gratitude to the plants, animals and other beings that give of themselves to sustain our lives.
We honour and celebrate this season of harvest and abundance through offerings of flowers, fruit, bread and prayers. We’ll create an altar of abundance and gratitude together as a feast for the Weather Beings. While they enjoy our offerings, we’ll celebrate with a potluck meal.
After our feast, the ceremony will end with a closing prayer around 3pm.
Afterwards, people are welcome to stay for questions around the fire about our Weather Work tradition. Michael will also give a short introduction to our weather ceremony at a sacred site in Northern Ontario.
Please RSVP to info@monikaghent.ca if you would like to attend. Attendees will need to bring fruit, bread (both sweet and savoury), and flowers as offerings as well as a dish for the potluck. Once we receive your RSVP, we’ll send you further information of the day’s events. Please pass this invite on to anyone who you feel would be interested in attending this ceremony.
The ceremony will be held rain or shine!
We look forward to celebrating the bounteousness of our land and this beautiful season with you!

November 22: The Tree Spirit Medicine of Sumac

The Tree Spirit Medicine of Sumac is “Lightness of Being.”
Sumac brings light into dark places within our psyche. It catches us from descending into the darkness, depression and hopelessness that comes from not living out of our true expression. The gift of Sumac medicine is radiant lightness of being. It brings us to that luminous and transformational place of pure presence and joy with an open heart where we find truth and peace within ourselves.
In this workshop participants will directly receive Sumac’s gifts of healing, wisdom and guidance by transmission through Monika. Experiences will be shared and interpreted so that we may all learn from each other the depth and breadth of Sumac’s tree spirit medicine. It will be with you always whenever you need it.
“I appreciate Monika for being my guide to greater connection with Tree Spirit Medicine as she surrounds us with her protection as soon as we think of her and when we enter a forest. The outline and length of the workshop was wonderful as it gave for ample time for sharing, for self-reflection, meditation and listening to one another’s experiences. Gratitude for such a heart-expanding offering.”
“The workshop with Willow was a reminder of how it’s sometimes so beneficial to get support in order to face and untangle our blind-spots. Held in a truly safe, strong container of Willow medicine and the guidance of Monika, I was right away shown a huge weight that could be released with a lot more ease in their graceful presence. My journey with Willow now continues and deepens, what a gift!”
